I am trying to teach myself objective-c. Specifically, iOS development. To this end, I have found myself a little project and am battling away at it.
Here is where you (my faithful readers) come in. I need you to review the code as it progresses and slag me off about it. Feel free, be brutal, laugh, heap scorn, really go to town. I know you want to!
The code is available at :-
Bitbucket.org, you can check out the code using the following command.
> hg clone https://bitbucket.org/fatgeekuk/questiontime-frontend
The idea behind the project is that a set of data defining a number of questionaires is imported into the application. This includes schedule information as to when each questionaire is to be presented to the user for completion. The user will fill in the questionaires and the data will be periodically uploaded to the backend.
My initial task was to get the data from a website (in xml) and store it in the app (using CoreData). Today (in over 9 hours) I have some very rudimentary/rough/ugly code which will START to do that. Not the actual data, but at least the structure of the data, Questionaires, Questions, Answers. The rows of data are created, and associated with eachother, but the real information, text of questions and answers, is not there yet.
So, be brutal, be honest, but please, if you know iOS coding and specifically CoreData, take a look and tell me where I am making a pigs ear of it.
